Proverbs 18:12 (ESV)”Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.”

A wise general adjusts the plan when the battle turns. A foolish one presses forward—even to ruin—because pride will not admit a mistake.

Pharaoh was that kind of leader.
Moses warned him: “Let my people go.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hard. His pride refused to bend.

Plague after plague, disaster after disaster—still he clung to his course. Scripture says: “Pharaoh hardened his heart.” (Exodus 8:32)
Pride blinded him to the truth—until destruction came.

Jesus warned of this same blindness: “They could not believe, because… he has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart.” (John 12:39–40)
Pride will not see. Humility learns.

In the Kingdom, honor comes not through strength, but surrender.
“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:4)

Application:
Where are you refusing to change course—holding fast not to wisdom, but to pride?
Yield now. Bow before the fall. Let humility open your eyes—and let the King lift you in His time.
