Remember the robotic armies from the evil empire in “Star Wars”?

Have you ever considered thecommand and controlchallenges such an army would face?

With artificial general intelligence (AGI) and quantum computing on the horizon, these technologies could soon enable systems to operate wirelessly, leveraging unprecedented bandwidth for near-instant communication and coordination.  And yes, with little or no human carbon units in control.  Ouch. Has anyone seen any Cylons in our future yet?

From the movie War Games: A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?” (after Joshua and Stephen Falken played out all possible outcomes for Global Thermonuclear War).

This report from the South China Morning Post underscores the urgency:

China has unveiled the world’s first mobile 5G base station, which, after passing rigorous tests, is now poised for deployment on the battlefield.

The implications are enormous. Winning the cyber-race in quantum computing and AGI is essential to retaining superpower status.

  • The AGI has the command and control.
  • Quantum computing powers the command.
  • Wireless connectivity with many users in a small radius keeps them on the same channel.

For the U.S., there is no room for second place.

If China integrates mobile 5G with quantum computing and AGI, it could transform battlefield operations and communication, providing a decisive edge in commanding autonomous systems in real time. This cyber race is not just about advancing technology—it’s about securing power, safeguarding national security, and shaping global influence.
