The headline of this story caught my eye — “Taiwan firms in China hub make uneven restart from COVID curbs”.
But when I read the entire news story, the details and implications were disturbing. Very disturbing.
1. Taipei (Taiwan) has a chip-making plant in China.
Since China has eyes on stealing the tech and the island why is Taiwan making tech and financial investments in a county which is unabashedly their worst enemy? Is Taiwan paying global tribute to the Communist regime or is Taiwan feeding the beast by appeasement?

2. The number of chipmakers in this hub was shocking!
I had never heard of some of these names and did not grasp that our dependency on China ran that deep. Then I wondered why so many foreign nations and companies even investing in China which is a totalitarian regime and steals the tech genius of others rather than put their stuff in the US? And what about those empty statements that OUR government was going to reduce our Chinese addiction to tech parts and medical supplies and drugs? Heck, my Bottle of betadine was sourced in China. Amazon must be China’s biggest pimp for sales.
