Our nation relies heavily on computers to process elections from registration to voting to tabulation.
The problem with computers is they present a very attractive target to fracture a democracy. Even if unsuccessful, we know that our confidence in the results is very low.
Hacking is cheap, sophisticated and not easily caught.
We had the devastating Solar Winds hack which hit many confidential data banks, government as well as those working for government. Dominion even had some access.

But if the breaches are bad, the delayed discoveries are even worse.

The Solar Winds Hack was not detected for nearly 10 months. And the Wall Street Journal headline is no comfort “Hack Suggests New Scope, Sophistication for Cyberattacks

Suspected Russian hack involving SolarWinds software that compromised parts of the U.S. government was executed on a scale that has surprised even veteran security experts”.

So, now examine this urgency with the urgency of the Executive Order Rush. Seems like a disconnect.

Our dependency on Communist China for essential drugs and medical equipment. And we now compound this with staggering vulnerabilities and intellectual property theft.

Just look at these DuckDuckGo search results.

The Biden Adminstration is talking up cybersecurity in general, but talk takes time.

Did you know 4% of phone apps can turn your phone’s microphone on. Laws must be passed which more strongly and directly deal with these relative to the consumer and prohibiting such surveillance and then selling data to who knows what.

Did you catch that the government was buying personal data on individuals that was collected from private companies. Data that was probably allowed with your consent unwittingly given that was hidden in the user agreement and elsewhere?

And this is data on American citizens that could not have been obtained without a warrant directly by the government.

Yeah, I am not so concerned about climate change right now.

We have some more pressing problems, ya think?
