A Shadow Government acting outside the law is real and not a conspiracy theory, and the harm caused will ripple in ways you cannot even imagine.
I have often joked from my many years federal government that there is no power greater than a little old blue haired lady wearing tennis shoes working in the back rooms doing the daily work in records and beyond.
Although it was said with my typical smile and tongue in cheek, there was truth in it. Enormous truth, the consequences from this regulated government who operates in the shadows and beyond the pale of law that governs you and me AND protects your privacy (eg., unmasking). And if all of the recent leaks, anonymous sources, sharing of government records in violation of our intelligence law, and other breaches of security tell me anything, they tell me that the unelected bureaucratic state which numbers in the hundreds of thousands are affecting are rights, our government, and our people.
We now have a former FBI Director who is also a lawyer removing government records for his own benefit, then anonymously leaking those through a third person and in violation of the executive privilege in doing so. There is a right way and a wrong way, but when one who knows better takes the law in his or her own hands such as this, this is more than being on the brink of anarchy…… it is anarchy.
Time will tell if Comey is prosecuted as he prosecuted Martha Stewart, but then again his breach of trust and faith for venal and personal gain is just a reminder how those who know have fallen. Or if he should be professionally reprimanded or have limitations placed upon his law license for potential perjury and criminal actions. Do not forget that lawyers are officers of the court, and the standard of professionalism is very high.
This “shadow government” is taking steps that can overthrow our way of life and Constitution and our government. Without rules of law, without principles of privacy and protection, without security, we are nothing more than a third world barbaric state ripe for takeover.
I have said time and time again, no person is above the law and the rule of law applies to the highest and the lowest.
If you think when the barbarians breached the borders of the Roman Empire then later sacked Rome was a good thing, then just remember the dark ages, the black death, and decline of western civilization were just a few of its products. And the Western Roman Empire stood for a thousand years and had the Pax Romana with no-one thinking it could or would fall, but it did.
